Our entire stack

Every website we build is made for Cloudflare. Not ported to it.

Most small business websites are built on ageing shared hosting and moved to a CDN later as an afterthought. We start on Cloudflare, which is why our sites are faster, cheaper to run and have nothing that can break at 2am.

  • Free hosting at small business scale
  • Nothing to patch, ever

The honest pitch

Why this matters to a small business

Cloudflare is not a badge we put on the site to look technical. It changes three things that cost small businesses real money: hosting bills, maintenance time and page speed.

£0

monthly hosting

Static sites on Cloudflare’s free tier cover a small business comfortably. No server to rent, and no bill that grows when a post goes viral.

0

plugins to patch

Nothing to update, nothing to break after an update, and no security hole opened by a plugin that was abandoned two years ago.

<1s

typical page load

Pages are cached in the city your visitor is in. Google uses page speed as a ranking signal, and your visitors use it to decide whether to stay.

The stack

What we actually build with

Six Cloudflare products cover everything a small business website needs — and every one of them is on a free tier that a small business will not exceed.

  • Cloudflare Workers

The platform your website runs on

Instead of renting a server in one country, your site runs in over 300 cities at once. A visitor in Slough is served from London; a visitor in Sydney from Sydney. Same page, same speed, everywhere.

  • Workers Static Assets

    How your pages are delivered

Your pages are pre-built and cached at the edge, so most requests never touch a server at all. There is no database lookup and no PHP to execute, which is why the pages load in well under a second.

  • Cloudflare D1

The database, when you need one

For contact enquiries, products, bookings or anything that has to be stored rather than emailed. It lives on the same network as your site, so there is no second provider to pay and no cross-provider latency.

  • Workers AI

    The AI features

An assistant on your website is served from the same edge network, so it answers quickly and the data does not leave Cloudflare. On the Complete package this is what powers the customer-facing assistant.

  • Cloudflare Email

    Contact forms and confirmations

Your contact form sends email from your own domain rather than through a third-party relay — better deliverability, and no separate email service to configure or pay for.

  • Cloudflare Turnstile

    Spam protection on your forms

Stops bots without making real customers solve puzzles or click traffic lights. It is the same protection most people never notice, which is the point.

Cloudflare questions

What people ask about the platform

Why do you only build on Cloudflare?

Because it removes the two things that make small business websites go wrong: ongoing cost and ongoing maintenance. A Cloudflare site has no server to rent, no plugins to update, no database to corrupt and no monthly hosting invoice. It also happens to be genuinely faster than the budget shared hosting most small business sites run on. There is no good reason left to build a brochure website any other way.

Is Cloudflare only for big companies?

It is the opposite, in practice. Cloudflare’s free tier covers everything a small business website needs, which is exactly why it suits a one-person business better than an enterprise. Around a fifth of the entire web sits behind Cloudflare — mostly ordinary websites, not technology companies.

What happens if Cloudflare goes down?

It is a fair question, and worth answering honestly: Cloudflare has had outages, including a notable one in 2025, and when it has one, a large portion of the internet is affected alongside you. In practice you are trading one rare, industry-wide risk for the much more common problems of shared hosting — a neighbour’s site spiking CPU, a plugin breaking after an update, or a host quietly overselling a server. For a small business website, the second set of risks costs far more time and money.

Can I move my existing website to Cloudflare?

Yes, and that is usually what a redesign involves. We rebuild the site so it runs natively on Cloudflare, map every URL with a 301 redirect to protect your Google rankings, and keep your old site live until the new one is ready. You are never offline during the switch.

Do I need a Cloudflare account?

Not necessarily — we can host it for you under our account and you simply point your domain at it. That said, we would usually recommend you have your own free Cloudflare account, because then you own the whole stack: domain, site and hosting. It costs nothing and it means no one can hold your website hostage.

What about WordPress sites on Cloudflare?

You can put Cloudflare in front of WordPress, and plenty of people do — it speeds up the delivery. But the WordPress installation still needs hosting, patching and plugin maintenance underneath. Our sites are built for Cloudflare natively, so there is nothing underneath to maintain.

Does this lock me in to you?

No, and this is worth checking with any web designer. Your domain is registered in your name, your Cloudflare account is yours, and the code is yours. Any competent developer can pick it up. There is no proprietary builder you cannot export from, which is exactly the trap that most "cheap website" offers set.
